Amenities During Your Stay

Lactation Consultation

Early breastfeeding is a time for learning, and both mother and baby may benefit from some time with an experienced teacher. Our nurses are excellent resources for starting breastfeeding; however, if you need additional support, our Certified Lactation Consultants are available for assistance. They will help you learn effective positioning techniques, solve problems and guide you over the bumps on the road to breastfeeding success.

Support Person Meal

Our food service department unleashes the power of food to transform your experience with us and help you feel at home while you are away from home. The items on our menu offer you more nourishing and tasty meals than ever before. In addition, we are pleased to provide your support person with a complimentary breakfast meal during your stay with us.

You can take comfort in knowing that we offer a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where we can provide high-level care for premature and critically ill babies. Our NICU provides advanced critical care to the Shelby County’s tiniest, most fragile babies. Our facility is currently the only Level III NICU in Shelby County and very rarely do babies need to be transferred out of the area for care.

Pasteurized Breast Milk

At some point during your hospitalization, your baby may require additional nutrition to supplement your breast milk. In these cases, we have pasteurized, donated breast milk available for our patients. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Health Organization, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention agree that exclusive breast milk feeding is best, especially to those born prematurely.
