Shelby Baptist Medical Center Honors First Responders During National EMS Week

May 20, 2021

EMS-WeekWeek highlights life-saving community partnerships, in particular over the past year

As we celebrate National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 16-22), we would like to recognize the men and women who commit their lives to providing critical, life-saving services and compassionate care to our patients and our community, in particular the sacrifices and selfless service demonstrated throughout the past year.

Through this year’s theme, “This is EMS: Caring for Our Communities,” we seek to join, inspire and celebrate first responders for all they do. We are privileged to work side by side with these heroes every day.

Since 1974, hospitals across the country have celebrated National Emergency Medical Services Week and invited their communities to recognize and thank the dedicated first responders who provide quality care throughout the year.

“On behalf of our entire Shelby Baptist team, we are incredibly thankful to our local first responders as our partner and initial lifeline for providing critical, life-saving services for our community,” stated Shelby Baptist Medical Center CEO, Daniel Listi. “We are proud to recognize and celebrate these heroes for their dedication and compassion in caring for our patients.”

We encourage everyone to dial 9-1-1 in an emergency so that EMS can provide immediate care and transport you safely and quickly to the hospital.
